Return to Behind the Scenes
Not all of the magic items listed in the Dungeon Master Guide and other Wizards of the Coast products are appropriate for the Habololy campaign setting. This section lists which items are not usable. As a general rule, any items which are draconic in nature are not allowed. Many items which have to pertain specifically to an outer plane are not allowed. Any item which creates an item permanently is typically not allowed.
Some categories of items are all usable in the setting, and therefore are not listed on their own screens. The following categories of magic items are all usable (assuming the spells within the item are usable on Habololy):
- Potions
- Scrolls
- Wands
If an item could be considered in two categories (such as a rod that requires Craft Arms and Armor to create), the item will be found in armor or weapons, not in rods or staves.
The following books have been used so far to compile this list. As time goes on and more books come out, this list will be updated. Assume any item from a book not listed here is not allowed.
- Dungeon Master's Guide
- Complete Warrior
- Frostburn
- Magic Item Compendium
- Stormwrack
